Prayer for Students and School Year

1

STUDENTS

Isaiah 42:16 (ESV)
And I will lead “them” in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.

Pray:
We pray for these students entering into unknown territory. Comfort their minds in the midst of new teachers, new friends and new learning. Lord, we agree that darkness has no place or authority in your presence. Please illuminate and brighten the path before these children. May they have clear sight for the road ahead and be aware of those shining your light for their lives. We pray for a smooth transition and smooth road before them. Give them strength and courage to stand upright. Thank you for being with these students and may they know your love.

FACULTY

2

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Pray:
We thank you Lord that these teachers and staff share with children the abundance of knowledge, joy, peace and love that you have provided for them. May you fill their lives with the very aspects of yourself that they need when they need it. We pray their emotions will not lead reactions but your patience would provide for them a response. May they recall the positive reasons why they are caring for children along with their own positive experiences when they were children. May they walk in grace and peace each day.

FRIENDS

3

Proverbs 17:17 (NLT)
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NLT)
Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”

Pray:
Lord, we thank you for being a friend to us and may these young people discover the same. May you strengthen good friendships and correct poor friendships. May the students find friends that encourage and challenge to new heights and to do what is right. We pray that “bad company” would not be effective in corrupting and that love would overcome. May the voices of wisdom be greater than the whispers of the enemy. And as much as we pray that these students would have good friends may they also become great friends themselves.

FAMILY

4

Colossians 3:14-15 (NLT)
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Pray:
We pray today that the families of these students be knit together in harmony through love. May you strengthen marriages to stand as a foundation of family. May you heal the wounds of broken relationships so they may love the children well. Teach them to love each other along with being loved. May your work in these students lives be a lighthouse at home and those storms come to peace. Please protect them and watch over them.

FACILITY

5

Psalms 121:7 (NLT)
7 The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.

Pray:
Lord, we pray for your protection over this school from harm. We ask for the safety of staff and students that spend so much time here. May you guide them in wisdom and discernment to be strong in peace and awareness. With a protected building we also ask for a strong building. May the facilities withstand the busyness of many children in constant use. We thank you for all this blessings inside the building to be a blessing to the development of these young people. You have blessed the church and school with this facility years ago and may it continue to be a blessing for many more.
